Our string instructors teach Violin and Cello. Beginners work on technique, simple songs and melodies, sight reading and theory. Each lesson will challenge you with a new technique or music theory, and ends with something fun – such as your favorite melody. We employ a variety of string method books based on student needs and preferences. Ages 7 and up.

What strings do you teach?
We teach Violin and Cello. How qualified are your string instructors? Our string instructors have received their education from prestigious institutions such as Berklee College of Music and Hope College. Many have toured the US professionally and bring over 25 years of professional performance and teaching experience to your lessons. What will I learn from string lessons at the Academy? Beginner string students can expect to work on fretting notes, simple songs and melodies, sight reading and theory. Our instructors balance musicianship and fun by making sure that each lesson presents a new technical challenges or theory concept, and ends with something fun, such as your favorite riff or song. We use a variety of method books and students are encouraged to bring any material they may be working on in school also. Do I need to purchase a (Violin/Viola/Cello) to learn the instrument?
